Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support clinical operations across various specialties, including general practitioners, medical doctors, and physical therapy outpatient clinics. This role involves providing exceptional patient care, assisting with medical procedures, and ensuring smooth administrative and clinical workflows within a fast-paced medical environment. Prior experience in a general practitioner's patient office is highly desirable. The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality healthcare services while maintaining compliance with medical standards and protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately.
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, including blood draw administration and medication administration when authorized.
- Support patient service activities by answering questions and providing education on treatments and medications.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR systems) efficiently to ensure accurate documentation of patient encounters.
- Prepare patients for exams or procedures in outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Assist with ICD coding, anatomy and physiology documentation, and other administrative tasks related to patient care.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various settings such as urgent care, internal medicine, or specialty clinics.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required.
- Prior experience in a general practitioner's office is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration.
- Experience working with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications in X-ray or OR experience are advantageous.
- Familiarity with inpatient and outpatient care environments.
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically.
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and clinical procedures.
